Roland DS-90A-120
Digital Reference Monitors
I am the original owner of this pair of Roland digital monitors. The sound
of these monitors has always been superb. They work exceptionally well with
any DAW system but work especially well with any of the Roland VS
workstations. Info from Roland is as follows:
The DS-90A's are the world's first 24-bit digital reference monitors,
employing digital inputs and high-quality built-in amplifiers for
transparent monitoring especially designed for today's digital studios.
The DS-90A's also perfectly complement the COSM® Speaker Modeling
found in Roland's newest V-Studios and V-Mixers.
- Compact near-field reference monitors with built-in bi-amplifier
design
- Ultra-flat frequency response characteristics
- 24-bit digital inputs (optical and coaxial)
- Reference standard monitors for use with COSM Speaker Modeling found
in newest-generation Roland V-Studios and V-Mixers
- Bi-amplifier design employs discrete circuitry in power amp section
- Analog balanced XLR connections and TRS 1/4" input
IMPORTANT:
In 99% of all listening cases, these monitors sound perfect. One of them
started to exhibit a slight rattle if you really pump heavy bass through
it at high volume.
The going rate on these right now is around $375 per monitor. Because of the
flaw I listed above though, I'd let the pair go for $400.
NOTE: I have the original boxes so I am willing to ship but the buyer
would have to pickup the shipping charges.
