2009 Chapman Stick Workshop
For 2009, Interlochen will include a Chapman Stick workshop in conjunction
with the guitar workshop. Both will take place the same weekend and the
evening concerts will feature both the visiting guitar teachers and Stick
teachers. Participants in this workshop must turn 18 years of age on or
before August 20, 2009.
To commemorate the 40th anniversay of the discovery of the Free Hands
tapping method, players of the Stick will have the opportunity to attend
classes taught by instrument creator Emmett Chapman as well as master
performer and teacher Greg Howard.
Stick players who also play guitar will have the option of bringing both
instruments and putting together an itinerary that includes both Stick and
guitar courses.
